What did you do when you stayed at Hargate Hall? It would be great to hear about what you did, where your went, and of course what you though about those places. If you could write a few words in the comments below, it would also be of great help to any future visitors when planning their stay here.

Although you can’t add photos when commenting (at least I don’t think so) If you have any you want to include you can email them to me and I can add them.

  1. Staying at Hargate Hall and getting away from it all, is a real joy! There are the beautiful grounds to explore, which is just brilliant for the children and nearby, there is plenty of stunning scenery to take in. We walked along the old railway line and came across a group abseiling from the bridge, which was great fun to watch. Then we took a path that followed the river and took us further into the Peak District countryside! I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Hargate Hall to anyone.

  2. We did all kinds of things, we walked to Monsal Head which was about a 6 mile round trip along the old railway line….fabulous views and great food at the top in the pub and cafe, supposed to be really good meals on an evening in the Hotel up there too. We visited Bakewell – very pretty with a lovely walk at the side of the river, and lots of places to buy Bakewell puddings! Buxton was nice, larger shopping area, but nowhere near as pretty as Bakewell and we also visited Tideswell – the church there is well worth a visit and we had a lovely milkshake at the cafe there that’s attached to the Dairy farm, good fish and chip shop there too!. We then went to Chatsworth, fabulous farm shop, amazing gardens and house, a days pass is £18…bargain for what you get, we were there all day long and it is well worth a visit.
